LAS CRUCES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2025

In 2014, New Mexico State University professor, Ross Marks seized on the idea of creating the Las Cruces International Film Festival at New Mexico State University. Since then, the Festival has grown to become the largest film festival in the country run by a University. It is now considered one of the most prestigious film festivals in the Southwest and is often referred to as The Sundance of the Southwest.
Each spring, the Festival brings the best of independent films to Las Cruces, with everything from feature length to documentary to short films. Students at New Mexico State University play a key role in running the Festival. In addition to the films, the Festival showcases a variety of workshops and panels on topics such as Hair and makeup; Writing for film and television; Animation; and Marketing your film. There is the opportunity to interact with key players in the film industry, including writers, producers, directors, and actors.
Well-known actors are honored at the Festival. Past recipients have included Giancarlo Esposito, William H Macy, Danny Trejo, Brendan Fraser, George Lopez, Cybill Shepherd, Richard Dreyfuss, and Edward James Olmos.
